No Place Like Home
Nanabijou - the sleeping stone giant protecting Silver Islet on the Sibley Peninsula invokes memories of my childhood and many days spent in the Northwestern Ontario wilderness. Paddling against the winds in our cedar strip canoes for over 3 hours while watching a bush plane land, explore the island and then leave again before we get halfway there. Swimming (bathing) in the 'refreshing' clear lakes after a long day hiking. Wishing the destruction of the entire mosquito population. Despite setting foot on 4 continents, there is really no other place I'd rather be from than the Great Canadian Wilderness.
