Canada's Ocean Playground
Since I moved to the UK, I try to get home at least once every two years. I split my time at my family home in Ontario and Mum and Dad's cottage in Nova Scotia.
It was a proper road trip; Convoy style through the beautiful wilderness of Annapolis Valley to Brier Island. The cousins were getting away together for a proper catch up. It was long overdue and we were leaving the parents at home!
The plan: do some whale watching, head back to the cottage on the Tidnish River for a campfire and a drink or five.
Mother Nature however had other plans. The most spectacular storm of lightening and torrential rain rolled in. Whale watching was cancelled, the island was flooding, we were wadding through water up to our knees. Soaked to the bone but not once did we stop laughing.
Retreating from the island on the ferry I took this picture of the storm.
I left the island that day without seeing a whale but with the most incredible memories.
Good times with great people and one heck of a storm.
