Long Distance Love
I met Patrick in December 2012 when we were both traveling in Peru and in the span of a week, fell for him completely. When he went back home to the UK and I back to Canada, I didn’t know if I’d ever hear from him again, let alone see him. Six months later he booked a flight to Calgary and I am convinced that if he hadn’t taken that giant leap of faith, we wouldn’t be together today. Neither of us knew what to expect, but moments in, our love story picked up where it had left off. We spent a fantastic week in the Alberta Rockies and we’ve been climbing up mountains, scrambling on glaciers and exploring the world together ever since. In this picture, taken in June 2013, we’re on the Athabasca Glacier doing our best impression of the cheesy tourist posters at the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre. Currently, we live together on the south coast of the UK, but can’t wait for the next chance to get back to Canada – to see my family and discover more secrets of the great Canadian wilderness.
